FAQ

Straight answers on pricing, price-lock, and coverage.

This is the same request that kicks off Ray’s Price-Lock walkthrough — a flat rate written down on the spot, and it’s still the number on your invoice come move day. He or Nadia calls you back personally about your Phoenix move, never a rerouted call-center rep.

Questions that come up most before someone books with Bargain Moving — pricing, the price-lock promise, storage, insurance, and what happens if your timeline is tighter than two weeks. Don’t see yours here? Call (602) 344-8891 and ask Nadia directly.

Is Bargain Moving an actual moving company, or are you just matching me with a carrier?
Yes — Bargain Moving is a fully licensed and insured moving company based in Phoenix, AZ, not a referral or matching service. We run our own trucks and our own uniformed crew on every job out of our McDowell Rd yard, and we carry US DOT and MC authority on file for interstate work. Nobody hands your move off to a carrier you’ve never heard of.
How much does a local move in Phoenix cost?
Local moves are billed hourly: $129/hr for a 2-mover crew, $169/hr for 3 movers, $209/hr for 4 movers, and $45/hr for each mover beyond that. If you’d rather have a flat number instead of an hourly rate, we also quote flat-rate bands at the walkthrough — roughly $450–$650 for a studio, $650–$950 for a 1-bedroom, $950–$1,450 for a 2-bedroom, and $1,450–$2,100 for a 3-bedroom or larger.
What exactly does your price-lock promise mean?
It means the flat rate Ray writes down at your in-home or video walkthrough is the number on your invoice, period. If the job runs long, runs short, or turns up a surprise, that number doesn’t move on move day. It’s the whole reason Ray started Bargain Moving in 2013, after years of watching quotes get renegotiated upward once a truck was already half loaded.
Do you offer storage if my move-out and move-in dates don’t line up?
Yes. Short-term storage runs $105/month for a studio or 1-bedroom load, $165/month for a 2–3 bedroom load, and $235/month for anything larger — all of it in our own Phoenix warehouse, not a subleased unit you’d never actually see.
What insurance or coverage is included?
Basic released-value protection rides free on every job. Deke or Ray will also walk you through adding full replacement-cost coverage right at the walkthrough, so that decision gets made in daylight, not buried in fine print after the truck’s already loaded.
Can you move a piano or a gun safe?
Yes, both are quoted as flat add-ons rather than left to an hourly guess: $265 flat for a piano, $225–$350 for a gun safe depending on weight. Uprights and grands go on a piano board with real straps, the same way every time, not walked down a staircase by feel.
How does booking and the deposit work?
A $150 deposit holds your date once the walkthrough is done and the flat rate is written down. That deposit isn’t an extra fee — it’s credited straight to your final invoice. Call (602) 344-8891 when you’re ready to lock a date.
What does a long-distance move out of Phoenix cost?
Interstate moves typically run $700 to $5,200 depending on the route and how much you’re moving, quoted flat off an inventory list before the truck ever loads. We run our own trailers on routes like Phoenix to Las Vegas, Denver, and Los Angeles, and carry US DOT and MC authority for every one of them.
Do you handle last-minute or same-day moves?
We do, depending on what’s already on the schedule. Two weeks’ notice gives you the most choice of dates, but same-day and next-day moves happen regularly when a timeline collapses — call (602) 344-8891 and Nadia will tell you straight away what’s open this week.
Which areas do you serve?
Phoenix and the Valley suburbs — Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Avondale, and Goodyear — plus wider coverage across Maricopa, Pinal, and Yavapai counties. Outside that range, ask; we still run plenty of jobs beyond the core ten cities.
What Sets Bargain Moving Apart In The Valley

Here’s How Bargain Moving Handles Things Differently Than Most Movers Around Phoenix

Arizona Doesn’t License Movers — So We Lead With What Actually Matters

There’s no AZ household-goods license to hang on the wall — AZ deregulated in-state moving years ago. What we do carry is our own US DOT and MC authority for anything that crosses into California or heads up toward Vegas, filed and current long before the truck leaves the yard.

Protection Explained Before The Truck Is Loaded, Not After

Basic released-value protection rides free on every job, and Ray walks you through adding full replacement-cost coverage right at the walkthrough, so that decision gets made in daylight and not buried in fine print after the truck's already loaded That’s the full protection conversation, handled up front — we’re not introducing an upsell once your boxes are already on the truck.

The Rate Ray Writes Down At Your Walkthrough Is The Rate On The Invoice

Every job starts with an in-home or video walkthrough and a flat hourly rate written down on the spot — that’s the same number that shows up on the invoice, not a revised total once the truck’s half loaded. Nobody renegotiates the price on move day.

Seven Trucks, Nine Movers, All On Our Own Payroll

Nobody on the truck is a day-laborer picked up that morning — every mover is a W-2 employee, thirteen of us total between the yard and the office. Come July, the crew’s loading before 6am to beat the heat, water coolers ride in every cab, and anything wood or electronic stays off direct sun on the truck bed.

One Number. Written Down. Never Renegotiated.

You’re dealing directly with the man who owns the trucks. Ray built Bargain Moving around one habit from his nine years quoting other people’s moves: write the number down at the walkthrough, and never touch it again once you’ve signed.
